Hi,

I've recently purchased a Firestone Audio Spitire DAC and am wondering how to set this up in my system.

I have a Denon 1910 amp and PS3 console. Currently I have:

PS3 to Denon via HDMI

PS3 to DAC via optical then DAC to amp via interconnects (CD input).

If I want to listen to a CD I have to select CD on my amp which means I cannot view the PS3 picture.

I have a 5.1 speaker set so wondering how I listen to CDs via the PS3/DAC - any ideas as the manual is very basic to say the least!!

cheers

I may be wrong on this, and I don't have a Denon here to check, but if you connect the analogue outs of the DAC to the analogue in of one of the video inputs on the receiver, 'V.AUX' for example, you should be able to assign whichever HDMI input the PS3 is connected to to that input, too. That way you'd get picture through to the TV, and sound from the Firestone.

You could then rename that input to 'Firestone' or whatever you want.

I think that'll work - give it a try. It's all covered in the 'Making the input settings (Input Setup)' section of the manual.

As to how to listen to music through the receiver, I'd do so in stereo, rather than trying to apply any surround processing to it.
