Cyrus or Naim to partner my Alchemist and Harbeths?

Hi. I'm after some advice and opinions as to which of these cd players might be better suited to my system. The Cyrus cd8x or the Naim cd5i-2. I have an Alchemist Kraken amplifier and a pair of Harbeth HL5 speakers. Any advice and info would be much appreciated.

IMHO I'd go for the CD5i, but there's a Supertest of players in the £1000 arena in the current issue of the magazine.

My friend just upgraded his Nexus player to go with his Kraken and Sonus Fabers - in the end the only player which was a worthwhile upgrade was a £2k Moon - make of that what you will.

The Naim 5i sounds great with it's partnering amp...not sure how it would sound with your Alchemist. If you're spending that much on a cdp, I think it's best for you to hear the combo for yourself.
