i have a cyrus av master with three seperate power amps and would like to add a blue ray player to my system,is there any way of getting hd audio or a way of adding an another av amp to my speakers?

Unfortunately not - the best way to get HD audio would be with either an AV receiver with preouts, used to feed the Cyrus power amps, or a dedicated AV processor used in the same configuration.

But in both cases it will involve replacing the AV Master.

thank you for the quick reply

have you or any one else some suggestions that would work well with the cyrus power amps

Although we are yet to give them formal tests, I'd be thinking Marantz AV8003 or Onkyo PR-SC886 processors, though both are on the wrong side of a grand.

If you'd prefer a more stripped down approach, and buy a Blu-ray player capable of decoding all HD audio formats and outputting them as Linear PCM, I really like the Audiolab 8000AP, which is just under £1000.

However, if you can live with the waste of buying a complete receiver and not using any of the amp channels, I'd be looking at the likes of the Onkyo TX-SR806 or 876 - it really depends whether you want the better video processing of the latter to upscale other sources - or even a TX-SR875 if you can find one at a good price, it being long replaced by the 876.
