Hi there,
I am trying to connect my laptop to my hi-fi, so I can doodle about on www.last.fm, but with limited success.
I have a 2.5mm pin to phono lead, which is going from the headphone jack on the laptop to the MP3 stage of my Cyrus 8vs amplifier.
The problem is that it is really quiet. If I turn up the volume on the laptop (to 100%) it produces near normal volume levels, but the bass notes are all distorted and I get little high pitched fart noises on the bass drums. The other alternative is to turn up the amp, but I have to go to about 11 o'clock to get decent listening levels and I am not a fan of going past about 9 o'clock, just in case it is flogging my amp.
Any suggestions from people who do this more often? Could it be the MP3 stage?
Thanks,
Phil
