Hi! Can anyone talk me through connecting my Oppo to the AVC A1 via the analogue inputs? Currently I have a traditional set up of DVD A1 + AVC A1 using Denon Link and component cable. I have a 5.1 system plugged into the normal speaker sockets I have a numerous choice of RCA sockets on the back of the amp ranging from EXT 1 - EXT 2 and Pre out to choose from! Which one do I use ? Also I have a subwoofer connected and confused about how to direct the signal to the Oppo. I have picture! It's just the sound side which is baffling me. I think I may have to assign something to something else on the AVC A1 remote (help needed there too!)

I'm pretty dumb when it comes to this so if anyone out there has the patience to help out I would be very grateful. Thanks!! Rich

You should connect the 5.1 channels on your Oppo to the RCA sockets called 'Ext. in' on your Denon. When using a 5.1 setup, don't use the surround back (SBL and SBR), and that goes both for the Oppo and the Denon.

Please also be aware, that you unfortunately cannot use the superior stereo outputs on the Oppo as part of the surround setup. But for 2 channel stereo listening I really recommend you use those. Therefore you should make a separate stereo connection also (to DVD, CD or similar on your Denon).

Now, I don't know what kind of subwoofer you have, but normally you should connect this from the subwoofer under 'pre-out' on your Denon.

Hey! Up and running! All I am waiting for is some decent interconnects for the stereo stage. Any suggestions? I've heard that Van den Hul Wave is a good cable! Comments ??
