Afternoon all.

Hope all is well with everyone here.

I know that I am going to get plenty of disconcerning looks over my lack of technical ability and how I am not making the most of my NaimUniti, so apologise in advance.

Recently I managed to connect internet radio from an App to the music streaming function on my car, so the speakers were utilised.
I am now spending a large amount of time in the house listening to this radio station on my HTC, but it suddenly occurred to me...

Surely I would be able to stream through the NaimUniti?

Given that I am proud that I downloaded and utilised an App, this concept is far, far beyond me, so hoping someone would know how to guide someone like myself through the process if it is of course possible.

Thanking in advance,

Roj.

Not sure why you need to stream it from your phone to the NaimUniti – why not just add the station to your favourites using the Naim radio web interface, and then you can play it any time you want using the Naim's own internet radio capability?

Thank you for the quick reply and link.

I did not even know about that site or the MAC address. I will have a go at getting that tonight.

Does that site allow me to connect to stations or is it just a registration to activate the NaimUniti and type in the web address?

I think I am more comfortable with streaming as I sort of get that.

You can either use it to search through the pre-loaded list on the site, and select stations as presets or, if the station isn't in the list and you know the URL of the stream, you can add it to your list and thus to your NU for quick access. I've already used it to add things like the BBC 'HD' radio streams and the 320kbps Radio Paradise AAC stream – which is now in the 'Naim's Choice' list on the NU's internet radio menu.

I wrote a blog last September about adding radio stations to the UnitiQute – it's here – and the same procedure applies to the NaimUniti.
