i have connect my ps3 via hdmi to reciver (yamaha rx-v3900) and reciver via hdmi to my lcd. but there are no pic just sound! do you have any solution

the HDMI input assign is correct becouse the sound is working!

Hi Zonzi. Make sure your TV and Yamaha AVR are both on, and the PS3 is in STANDBY. Then turn the PS3 on by touching and holding the 'power on' for about 5 seconds until you hear the second beep.

This may sound a stupid question, but have you flicked through all your TV inputs, and is the HDMI securely connected between the TV's HDMI IN and the Yamaha's HDMI OUT ?

If so, put the PS3 into standby and try the previous procedure again.

yes I try all 3 tv in and 2 yamaha out. when I connet directly ps3 to tv work fine sound and pic

Okies - do you have any other components connected via HDMI to the Yamaha such as a BD player, DVD player etc., and do they display properly ?

Have you tried using a different HDMI input on your Yamaha for the PS3 ?

is it possible that my hdmi out in amp is damaged? the amp is 2 month old and this is first time I use the hdmi out.

You've got 2 HDMI outs, so try using the other one maybe just to check ? Also have you tried connecting the PS3 and TV using the same HDMI cable that is currently connecting the TV and Yamaha ? Could be a failed HDMI lead.

no i dont have any other components to try! yes I have try all solutions (all hdmi out, change the hdmi cable...)

The 2000 series are older generation Sony sets, and you haven't posted the full model number. You've missed out the all important letter ! If it's a W or X series then they'll be 1080p. If it's a U or V series then they're only 720p which may be where the problem lies.

Try connecting the PS3 directly to the LCD so you get a picture. Go into the PS3's Display Settings, and make sure that the 1080p box is 'unticked'. Once this is done, try connecting it back up as you did before through the Yamaha and see what happens.

thank you for the help every think is working now! I have to push one button in to the remote 🙂

sony is the W series and it is 1080p!

have a nice day
