Though I had narrowed my choice down to Samsung A656 or Sony Bravia W4000U. Then somebody goes and throws a Panasonic PZ 80 series into the mix.

I am an average user looking for a 40" tv to upgrade from my monster 32" Sony CRT. I know the basic differences between the above but can you experts without getting to technical rate them in order of preference. I know the Panny will be 42 as opposed to 40 and it is plasma.

Help

Clare Newsome:If you can hold off exactly a month, we'll be naming the very best sets at every size in our 2008 What Hi-fi? Sound and Vision Awards - and that includes testing 40in models (inc the new Sony W4500 model) against other 40in plus best of 42in sets (inc Panasonic 42PZ800).

Will you have the Bravia X4500 by then?

Hi Clare,

I was planning to purchase a 37" tele, and see Panasonic are still doing their free 5 year warranty until the end of September. Not being able to wait until your "best sets" announced next month, I just wondered whether the Panasonic TH-37PX80b was still considered pretty much the best tele at this size, or if anything else had come out recently that might be better?

Many thanks!
