First of all apologies if this is in the wrong forum!

I recently purchased some screen cleaning wipe type things from a well known electrical/electronic retailer for the purpose of cleaning CDs, cases etc as some of second hand discs I've purchased recently have frankly been a bit of a state when they've arrived!

The thing is, these things should come with a health ventilation warning on them! After cleaning just 2 discs, whatever is in these things really gets in my throat and they are not pleasant to use.

so question is, does anyone have any tips for products for cleaning cd surfaces without fear I'm gonna be overcome with noxious fumes or lose the lining on my nasal passages?

Could always try this.

I use Fellowe's screen wipes available from various sources - also good for cleaning my glasses. I find them effective without irrating my nose, skin or eyes. I only clean CDs/DVDs when absolutely necessary. I have resorted to washing discs in warm water with a tiny amount of washing up liquid, carefully dried with kitchen towel.

I generally use spectacle lens cleaning spray 'for coated lenses' as it leave no residue. Works for CDs DVDs and BDs

Wipe with a nice clean micro-fibre cloth, job's a good un

Autoglym Fast Glass.

Great on CDs, DVDs, BDs, spectacles, TVs and computer monitors.

Oh and it can also be used for cleaning automotive windscreens, so I've heard.
