Hi there,

My Musical Fidelity B1 amplifier recently gave up the ghost and I'm considering my next step. I was using it with a Marantz CD65 MKII SE CD player and Proac SuperTablette speakers.

I am in the process of ripping my CD collection with DBPoweramp to FLAC lossless and MP3 lame. I therefore want to go over to a network receiver. I did get to listen to a Naim Unitiqute a while ago and I loved the sound. Unfortunately, I can't justify the price.

I read the what hifi review of the Cambridge Audio Minx xi and it stated "if you're the kind of person that has lusted after Naim's excellent uniticute 2 but can't afford the outlay, give this Cambridge a go. You won't be disappointed."

I want to use with ethernet connection as I'm not a fan of wifi exposure in general. I don't like harsh sounds. Are there any better alternatives to the Minx that would be better suited to my Proac speakers? My budget is around the £400 mark. I would love to hear from Minx enthusiasts what you think of the unit.

Many thanks in advance.
