I am slowly upgrading the home cinema speakers that I bought as a set a few years ago. My current issue is that the centre speaker is a weak spot and I am looking for a replacement that is slim enough to sit on the display unit in front of the TV without protruding up beyond the TV bezel. There is nowhere else to put the speaker without causing domestics!
After looking around and deciding that selecting a new speaker based upon its height is a bit silly, I decided that soundbars could be a solution as there are a number of slim ones that would fit nicely. However, they are obviously designed to work as a self contained unit and are not supposed to be driven by my Sony av receiver. Unless somebody knows of a unit that can accept an external signal and bypass the internal electronics.
Can anybody offer advice?
