Cheers pal. I think I have now decided to keep with mine for another 10 years though.Benedict_Arnold said:gel said:Would quite like to read your thoughts on the Arcam avr850 and the Pioneer sc-lx901 amp. Thanks.
Plenty of reviews out there if you google them.
I'd certainly wait until the whole HDR thing settles down a bit, and unless you want 11.2 why go for the top of the range model? Most 2016 and 2017 models will handle 4K, Atmos, current HDR standards, but not necessarily Dolby Vision, so if it's musicality you're after you might be better with a more modest receiver and a proper power amp for your fronts. The new Emotiva is modular and you can start out with two or three channels and go up to a maximum of seven per case by adding extra pretty much plug-n-play boards.gel said:Cheers pal. No, Marantz's focus is more on Hi Fi than AV, and vice versa for Denon. Nobody's more high end than the other.Benedict_Arnold said:I suspect Onkyo will use the Pioneer brand for its (slightly?) higher end products in much the same way as Denantz does with Denon.
Agreed, and I didn't think they liked it much too - not a good sign.buzz_lightclick said:I thought it was strange that What HiFi reviewed the Pioneer SC-LX701 when it first came out, but still not the 901?
