It might be because Julian Richer owns 51 percent of Audio Partnership (Cambridge Audio & Mordaunt Short) and Richer Sounds have an exclusive distribution / retail relationship with Cambridge Audio in the UK.

Outside of the UK, Cambridge Audio will be more expensive because they have to rely on distribution (and retail) companies that are not owned by their majority shareholder.
