i have wired my skyhd and my dvd player via HDMI to my Onkyo606 and then 1 x hdmi to my tv.

my new tv has freeview built in but i cant seem to access it? i think my sky cable and the terrestial cable go into the back of the skybox, the hdmi cable connects from sky box to onkyo and hdmi from onkyo to tv. Is there a cable missing? that would let me access freeview? on my old tv and skyplus set up before the onkyo amp arrived 2 leads came out of the sky box - directly to the tv, one scart for sky and one for terrestial tv. this is not well written and i am confusing myself but if anyone can understand this and has an answer i would be grateful.

tks

Do you have a rooftop aerial connection that can can go straight into the back of your tv? Which model tv is it and have you consulted the manual as to how set-up freeview on it?

hi - yes i have a rooftop aerial and the sky dish, both for some reason go via the sky box as it did previously when i had skyplus not skyhd. the tv is a Samsung LE46A???? the manual does not say how to connect it which is strange it just says to view DTV press 'source' button but since there is only one source as far as the tv is concerned which is HDMI in - it says no signal found - i thought the HDMI one cable via amp would be ok but maybe i have to run another cable from skybox to tv via scart and see if that makes any difference?

thanks for those 2 last replies, because the cabling is now cut to length and hidden under carpets etc i think i will run from rf out to tv from skybox - i dont think but have not tried to see if the cable will reach directly.

you would have thought that if i switched the sky box off then the source would only see terrestial but does not appear to work that way.

thanks
