building the system after 20 years

After years of talking about it ive started making inroads into cobbling system together for listening to all the vinyl i bought as a yoof.

At present i've assembled an inherited Pioneer pl600 tutrntable with a Denon PMA 250SE amp, unfortunately as far as speakers go, im currently using some underpowered yoghurt pots that were attached to a mini hifi system a few years ago

My question to the learned collective is this, what would be the best set of relatively decent / affordable set of speakers i could put with the system

Speakers are very personal, but I bought a pair of Cambridge audio sx50 speakers recently, they are under 150 pounds, they are small but energetic and I am very happy with them.

If you read the review of them on what hifi there are alternatives mentioned which may be better. Many are very happy with q acoustics 2000 and 3000 range
