Just finished re-modelling my living room and now it is time to put all my av/hifi gear back in.
But as with most on this forum I am in the mood to spend some money (that I probably do not have), And I thought about upgrading my disc spinner.

Current hardware, Pana th-42pz80, Yam dsp-763, Jamo's and my current disc spinner Pana Bd35.

Budget is not really an issue if I can get a picture/sound improvement, but I need to be realistic, there is no point putting a £1000 player in this set up.

Can anyone recommend a blu ray player or do I stick with what I have?

Many thanks,
DJ

PS I have no interest in 3D, though I suppose if a 3D ready player can improve on 2D against my BD35 then fair enough

I have the same amp as you and bought the matching yam blu ray , bds-2900 model as they are much much cheaper now. Upgraded from a sony 360 blu ray, I find the Yamaha blu ray a great machine, much more natural colouring compared with the Sony. I believe the Yamaha was based on the bd65 so will be an upgrade, although marginally over the 35.

I'd get a Sony spinner if I was you. BDP-S470 is good, as the reviews say, it's 3D ready for when the time comes and has lots of nifty features, YouTube and stuff.

Doesn't cost a fortune either. Design-wise, it might not match your amp, but that's your call.
