I currently use a PS3 for Blu Ray and I have just purchased the Pioneer LX 83 which is awesome, I want a dedicated Blu Ray player so my question is do I go for the Arcam BDP100 which is still on back order, or do I go for a player around the £400 will I notice a big enough difference to warrant the extra £600.

Cambridge Audio Azur 650BD just walked off with the WhatHiFi 2010 Best £300+ Bluray players award. Worth considering if you are not bothered about having 3D capability. Also its a few quid cheaper than the Arcam, which can be re-directed for other "essential" AV equipment, ha ha

Hope this helps,

On the face of it the ARCAM BDP100 should be a dead cert buyer however after initially thinking it would be my next player i'm not impressed with what i'm hearing about it. The two big one's that are putting me off are noisy transport and the quality of the build with regard to the internal layout of the components i.e isolation of parts. The overall concern is that it's not up to ARCAM's usual standards , it's a pre built player by someone else with an ARCAM badge on and it doesn't justify it's high end price tag. This is just what i've come across on the web could be complete BS however i would seriously take a good look at the player before buying it to many question marks that need an answer.
