Hi there,

I bought a Sony DAV IS10 a few months ago which I'm extremely pleased with thus far. I now think it's time to upgrade my home cinema to Blu-Ray as this is clearly the way forward if I'm to get the ultimate picture & sound with my Pioneer Plasma television.

Currently my setup is the following:

Sony DAV IS10 to Pioneer TV via HDMI

Sky+ to Pioneer TV via Scart

Sky+ to Sony DAV IS10 via Optical Cable

How would I connect a Blu-Ray player to my current setup? Would I have a HDMI cable going from the Blu-Ray player to another HDMI input on my TV and then an audio cable from the Blu-ray player to the Sony DAV IS10.

Any ideas that would give me the best possible picture & sound would be much appreciated.

Yup, you'll want HDMI to the TV for the picture and then ideally, get a Blu-Ray player with a digital coaxial output and you can then hook the player up to the Sony DAV-IS10 via this for sound.
