big sound please

Hi. I am currently after purchasing some speakers to go with my MAC.  The MAC is set up in the kitchen and I watch a lot of iPlayer Demand Five, ITV player etc and also listen to iTunes.  Now while the MAC delivers quite good sound it just isn't loud enough for me.  Last year I was looking in to purchasing the Audio Engine A2 speakers but for whatever reason never got round to it.  Now I am wondering if there is a better option out there and what you kind people would suggest.  I have just had a birthday so my OH owes me a present so the funds are there to be spent.

I'm assuming that you're looking for active speakers, so these are the ones that I'd be considering....

The A2 are regarded as a 4 star product, so should be pretty good at £110. If you want to spend a bit more, consider the A5s at £200 and 5 stars. More than that? Then the AktiMates look a good bet.

Why not take a look through the Dock Systems reviews which include the smaller active speakers? clicky. This should provide a shortlist for you to audition.
