Hi

I have listened to PMC GB1i with the Lx and it seemed to sound very good with a lot of detail but only gave a good depth when a sub woofer was added. I was listening in stereo mode to rock music as the split will be 70/30 music to surround movies. I am having a home demo next week and I wondered what other speakers would be good to try out.

If you like rock then you may want to try the Dali Ikon 6 or 7 with the Pioneer. A superb combination if you can accomdate the larger speaker.

They are not as pretty as the PMC's but they really gel with the Pioneer SC amps.

Hi

As good as the GB1i's are, they do use a fairly small drive unit, so will have certain limitations. For bass depth without a subwoofer, you really have to look at floorstanders with a larger cabinet volume and a larger bass driver, or more bass drivers. Speakers like ProAc's new Studio 140.2 use two larger bass drivers, so are able to shift much more air. There's also Monitor Audio's RX8, which won't have a problerm bass-wise, but you may feel they don't quite match up to the ProAc and PMC models for general quality.

My advice for you, forget about the lx-72, and go for the lx-82 it,s definitly worth the extra money.

as for speakers you might also wanna check the Focal Chorus 826V in combi. with the lx-82, i have this setup my self, and iam truly impressed watta wonderfull combination, alot of details, dynamic, depth, and a transpernecy that will make hair stand on end.

My vote goes to the WHF Review............... RX'6's (obviously
