Hi I've recently ordered the Philips 2009 model 32pfl9604 TV, which will be delivered to me next week (£750 inc 5yrs warranty and delivery). I hope I've made the right choice, as the 2010 replacement models in the 9000 series will be coming out July/August this year. Are these most likely to cost more anyone, if so how much?

Secondly, according to many expert reviews, this is good choice for picture quality providing that the settings are adjusted properly, opposed to the factory settings. Can anyone provide the settings on their TV of this model, to get the best picture quality?

Cheers, Sam.

The word on the net is the philips 32pfl9705 will cost around £1100, so yes they are going to cost more.

Secondly i have a philips 32inch and have alway's used factory setting's, properly you should start from there and see how it goes.

Hi Sam

With a comparision with your model and the new one for 2010.

The 2010 has a higher code on it with being 32pfl9705 and with that should come a sharper image, it is also 3D ready but then you will have to buy a 3D pack for it, it will cost more but there is a very good chance it will be better.

Thanks for the details Gel. Can anyone else who has access to the TV provide me with best settings? Maybe Andy Clough?

If you have a blu ray player & a dvd with the THX set up on it ( a list of relevant dvd's can be found via the THX website ), you can set your TV up using that.

Star Wars Episodes 4,5 & 6 all have it on.

The THX set up is found usually in the languages selection menu, once found use video setup. This set up is usually a good base to start from if you cant find proper settings on the web for your TV.

Regards ..Paul
