Because there will be a new line of LED tv's coming our way in a few months time, i think the prices of the current
models will drop. That's why my question to you is; Which LED Tv is currently the best? It can't be more than 1000 pounds.

You mean LED lit LCD TVs. Samsung was the first to bring out the models in 2009, they have edge-lit LED technology, so local dimming is not going to be the best in class. But edge-lit technology is the cheapest technology. Backlit LED technology is more expensive, but will offer better local dimming and thereby a superior performance.

What model size are you looking for? The prices of the older models will drop, but you may want to save up a bit until the new models come out & go for a better performing TV.

Yes, i meant LED lit LCD TVs. Sorry about that.
I'm looking for a 32" or 37" Tv. Thank you for mentioning that the 2009 Samsung's have edge-lit LED technology,
i didn't know that. My favourite choice on this moment is either the Sharp 32LE600E or the Sharp 32LE700E.
The sharp '600' is the cheapest LED lit LCD TV, but has an great design and it doesn't have the edge-lit LED techology,
it is a Full LED tv and offcourse Full HD. The only drawback is that it's 50HZ and offcourse the sound isn't very good.
The '700' is 100HZ and pretty much (except for the sound) perfect. The 700 is 200 pounds more expensive than the 600, so
i hope the prices will drop considerably.

I'd stay away from the Sharp sets. They really stuggle with fast motion and have extremely poor screen uniformity, the amount of detail in black scenes is also not so great, I had to nudge the brightness up alot to get the best detail, doing this caused unwanted effects though, like noticable clouding. I had the LE46700E for around 2 weeks and found it really hard to live with. I wasn;t the only Sharp owner with these problems either.

Why not take an audition of the LG 42SL9000?

I bought a Sharp AQUOS LC40LU700 from Richer Sounds on Sunday and I think the picture is a massive improvement on my old 32 LCD TV and overall I'm happy with it. My only real niggle is that it feels like I'm watching in fast forward sometimes. I've tried switching the 100Hz on and off to no real signs of improvement. Is this something I am going to experience on all 40inch tvs? Does the Samsung UE40B7020 suffer this phenomenon (my other contending TV)?
