HI , i m new , so i need some advice from you .

Im looking for an uprade , i have a vintage sansui 7700 au and i would like to get a better amplifier or preamp and power amp combo.

what is the best ampli suitable for my kef speaker. i like punchy and fast basse, smooth treble and good soundstage, i hate harshness treble and dry sound caractere. the high frequency must be clean.

thank you for your help.

Audiolab pre/power used to drive KEFs reasonably well, though I can't speak for yours. I used to bi-amp a couple of Musical Fidelity A1's into some big KEFs. Beautiful sound even for an old rocker like me, the whole MF sound might suit your tastes.

I had the 104/2s and found that they worked well with the little Puresound A10 and really only sounded 'better' at high volumes when used with a Sony TA-F770ES, but under 95% of the time, the little 8wpc A10 was fine.

I also had some Magnepan MMGs which had a similar resitive 4 Ohm load, and sounded their best on the end of a Restek Challenger.

Basically as long as the amp is happy with a 4 Ohm load, and a decent power supply you should be OK.

I cant find the '104/3', was it the 104/2, 103/4 or 105/3??

hi hoopsontoast,

sorry my bad that was kef 103/4 reference,i glad there is some amp work well with the kef reference , i tried before cyrus and audiolab and i wasn t convince off the result, cyrus was to weak and audiolab to dry.

thank for your advice , i like idea of the valve puresound. i thinke valve are the best choice.

hi altruistic.lemon

actually nothing wrong, i like my sansui 7700, i was wondering if something in the market can match this amp and and at witch kind off price tag?

but actually i thing somethime some sound a bit bright , but it s maybe because i use chord cable. i have the chameleon as interconnect and the chord epic as speaker cable. maybe i can try something different . any sugestion?

witch similar amp in this day can compete with the sansui?
