none of them have sound thats described as great , very few flatscreen tvs do ...

the latest panasonic plasmas are the best , at 42in anyway , and at any size imo , and according to the majority of reviews ...

either the 42g20 or 42v20 , its possible the v20 may have slightly better sound , im not sure , but i wouldnt think it would be much better , if at all , either tv is a fantastic set , the v20 being slightly better with picture quality , slightly better blacks , but not much between them really , according to reviews ..

edit .. actually panasonic are the only makers of 42in plasmas right now afaik....

What max means is that Panasonic are the only makers of 1080p 42" plasmas as Samsung have a 2010 720p & LG have 3x 720p's as part of this years range.

I'd agree that Panas are great for watching sports. I have a PZ700 42" which "only" runs at 50Hz but has virtually no motion issues at all. I also recently got a 50" G20 which runs at 600Hz and is similarly superb with motion, no mean feat considering the size of the thing!!

When it comes to sound I'd agree 100% that you're really not gonna get a flat TV these days with decent/acceptable sound. My PZ700 is going a bit grey now but I got it precisely because it had decent speakers built into it. Sadly it's not available now! But the G20 sound is utterly appalling!! What Hifi had a test in recently where it said it was quite good on sound quality. All I can say is, I'm glad I wasn't there to hear the sound from the other TVs on test if that was the best one!!!!! I had it for about a month before I couldn't stand it any more, and I've now invested in a Denon and Jamo surround system (at no little expense and hassle!) but I'm delighted that my ears are now being massaged as well as my eyes.

Hope that helps.
