Hi - yes I have a Bushmaster MK2 DAC and an external battery.
I have an Anker Pro 2 battery similar to this one :-

..the above battery is a different brand but looks identical to mine.
This battery does work with the Bushmaster and sounds very good indeed. It is obviously a much cheaper way of getting clean power than the various expensive Linear Power Supplies on the market.. This battery also has a 5V USB output which I use to power my Squeezebox Touch. So the one battery gets rid of 2 nasty walwart power supplies.
The only problem with the Bushmaster is that it draws only a tiny current from the battery. My Anker battery has an auto shut off after 20 minutes if the current draw is low. To prevent this I wired a tiny grain of wheat bulb in circuit so that the Bushmaster stays on and does not get shutdown.
The battery powering both the DAC and Squeezebox provides enough charge for a few evenings listening before needing a recharge.
There is another battery that Stan Beresford recommended called the Ankaka. However, this had to be ordered from abroad, was more expensive and I think may no longer be available.
