I have a house full of xbox360's. Two banned machines (one saved from the rings of death) and an untampered elite that runs live and games (for the children of course).

I have used them with the excellent Tversity to stream movies in HD from my desktop computer to my xbox's/plasma.

After the latest ban, I can no longer do this on the banned machines. There is a workaround on the tversity forum, but it doesn't work at all for me!

Has anybody come across the same problem, and have a solution.

Thats right PJPro.

It was a bit of a waste of time getting the xbox's modified as my sons have only ever really played 3 or 4 games on the Xbox360 and only want to play online with live. I realise that this facility has now gone on teh banned machines, but the media streaming facility has also gone.

The xbox360 does make a great media server and using it with tversity on my PC, it's great at streaming video at 720p with a 5.1 soundtrack when connected to my router/pc with a fully wired connection (ie pc to router then router to xbox all wired). Only problem I encounter is a slight frame judder every 15 minutes or so.

Anybody had any experience with this?

I copy whatever I want to watch to a flash drive instead. It's not quite as convenient I know but it does mean that I don't need my PC running at the same time.

I had the exact same issue assuming you are talking about xvid/divx avi files, I have done the following:

Set the folder with the videos in to transcode only when needed in TVersity

In the profiles.xml (stored with the TVersity files) removed all entries that involved mimetypeList AND avi.

Now able to play xvid/divx videos that are automatically transcoded by tversity so slightly slower and fast forward isn't very effective but at least the 360 plays it. Unfortunately you need Live access to play xvid/divx files (something to do with licensing) and there is no way around it on a banned console other than this 🙁
