Hi, firstly just wanna say hi to all..I'm a long time reader but not user on the forums, I have a strange issue with my new B&W Zeppelin dock and was hoping one of you may have the magic answer for me.
A week ago I bought a brand new Zep dock and a nice new ipod touch, when I got home I set everything up only to notice that during playback only I could hear a strange distortion in the background when played at higher levels, the distoirtion would change if I upped or lowered the ipod's volume and obviously this is very noticeable during quiet sections of some songs. I was unable to work out the issue and decided to playback the exact same mp3's but on my iphone 4 and had no issues at all. I was unable to find any solution online so I assumed it was an issue with the ipod, I took the ipod back to the shop and the guy tested it on the shop's zep and it didnt have the same issue which obviously surprised me...he did the nice thing and granted me the benefit of the doubt and exchanged the ipod for my anyway, I took my new ipod home put on some new songs, plugged it in and problem was fixed, later the same night I decided to play some more music and low and behold the problem has returned!! I'm assuming its not an issue with the ipod itself but maybe an issue with the zep dock but why is it not giving me any problems when I am playing back music through my iphone 4 but only issues when I'm using the ipod touch? It's not an issue with the touch itself cause this is the second one I've had...I am honestly totally at a loss to what is causing the issue. I've tried changing the location of the dock thinking perhaps it was picking up some sort of electrical intterferance but no joy....can anybody even think of possibilities?
Cheers for any help guys.
