B&W MM-1 - some info

At first I though Windows 7 was mistaken, but B&W confirmed it for me via email:

The MM-1s currently only handle up to 16bit/48khz files, and 'will truncate 24bit/44khz or 24bit/48khz files to 16 bit'.

This is a bit disappointing considering its hefty price, and I wonder if I would have purchased these knowing this. They do sound great but I'm questioning their value now.

They might be stonking for what they are, but I doubt if you'd be able to tell the difference between 16 and 24 bit on them, and even of you could, we're not exactly awash with 24 bit material to buy are we?
