I have a Denon AVR 2105 bought some 5 years ago.

I have no problems with it but as I have now got blu-ray will updating to the Denon 1910 give me a noticable difference in sound quality and where is the cheapest place to buy it.

what blu-ray player do you have? Judging by model numbers, while you're looking at a newer machines, you're possibly stepping down the range a bit?

ahh, thought your BD player might have on-board decoding.

The 2105 and 1910 seem quite similar in terms of punch - try this link and click on the "compare" option at the bottom of the page. Similarities notwithstanding, you may notice a bit more from the 2310 amp, but you don't want to outclass your speaker system.

Probably cheaper to buy a new BD player (with analogue outs) and plug it into the six-channel inputs of the denon than to get a new receiver with inbuilt decoding...
