AVR with Floorstandings

Hi. Just need to ask. Can i connect 5 flooor standing speakers direct with AVR like we connect speakers to the amplifire.

Why wouldn't you be able to do that? They're just speakers.

Im just thinking i need a big sound set up with sometimes for movie as well. I dont need to set up a soround system. But avr means home theretre isnt it

You said this on another thread, I don't understand the point you're trying to make (and I rather suspect you don't either). You can use an avr for just music and you can use an avr with just two speakers but you can also get a "big sound" with a normal stereo amp, just turn the volume up.
