Hi,

I have a PS3 hooked to to a Denon AVR 1909 with the output going onto a Sony KDL 40W4000 set.

When the 1909 is on, everything is fine but, when it's on standby, the PS3 output doesn't get to the Sony.

It's probably something really simple, but how do I get the 1909 to pass through the PS3 signal when its in standby?

(I only ask as i'm soon going to get Sky +HD and will need to use the pass through more and more I expect!)

Thanks in advance for any help,

Rob

Hi.

I have a 1909 as well, when the amp is in standby mode it has to be set to the input you want to pass through prior to putting it in standby.

I leave mine on the sat input so that i can watch the HiDef Sky channels without the amp being on.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help Michael,

I've tried what you suggested, but it's still not working!

My PS3 is connected to HDMI1 which is assigned to DVD. Everything looks to be setup ok, but i'm not having any joy with it. Could you go through your settings just so I can see where i'm going wrong?

Thanks, Rob

Rob.

I haven't made any special changes to my settings, all the HDMI inputs "pass through" to the HDMI output on the amp when the amp is in standby. This does not work if the amp is powered off.

Hi,

Select HDMI options in the menu and select HDMI control this will then let it pass through the signal (On HDMI inputs only). However the downside to this is that you amp will consume a lot more power than when it is just in standby (0.3 watts normal standby, 30 watts with HDMI control switched on) hence why I have this feature turned off.
