AV reciever / cd dvd player

Just looking for some advice ive got a old teac dvd cd L700 with amp. latley its been strugling to read dvds think laser might be on its way out?? do they make av reciever with cd dvd built in togeather still and what would be best to buy?? or is it better to get separates?? please help .... thanks

Separates will usually give a better sound quality. Depends on your budget and room size really.
