Completely new to the HiFi scene as I am about to set up my first (real) system. So I bought myself some second hand Tannoy 638 Speakers, which had an impressive sound when I heard them at the guy who sold them to me.
He used a tube amplifier to show me these speakers but I would like to connect them to an AV receiver. Some research on the net indicates that these speakers go rather low and would be best in combination with a 'bright' receiver. Somewhere else I found that these speakers would work best with a Yamaha, NAD or a Marantz receiver.
I would invest a maximum of 700 euro. What would you guys suggest i'd go for?
