I have an odd shaped room where bacisally the electronics will have to be placed in the corner of a room about 5 metres from the TV. I know that any scart socket/ composite/s video cable will produce a rubbish picture from a cable of that length so I believe an HDMI cable is the answer. My plan is to get an amp where I can connect it to my DVD/Sat/VHS via S Video/Composites etc then use a single 5m HDMI cable from amp to TV. Can this be done on any home cinema amp? Or do I have to use HDMI sources to enable the HDMI monitor to work? Please name me the amps that would give me a safe balance of music and movie performance (I know thats not entirely possible). I am intending to buy Tannoy Custom F1 speakers. I have all the hardware (tape/md/tape etc) buy no amp/reciever.
