I have just started upgrading my Home Cinema set up. I have a Panasonic 37" G10 LCD and the Blue Ray BD35, my speakers are front KEF IQ50's with a Canton CD 50 for the centre and CD100's for the rears. My amp is an old Marantz SR4300 and behind the times now. I am looking to upgrade this and want to spend between £500 and £1000. The amp has to be good at both movie play back and CD's as I watch action movies and listen to rock music like ACDC. I have been looking at the Marantz 6003, Denon 2809 and various Yamaha's. Most dealers are advising me to wait as all new ranges are due in June and July. Any ideas on what Amp will be better?

It is a close call between the SR6003 and the Yamaha RXV1900 - with the Kefs the Yamaha may tip the balance. I very much doubt the mid level Yamaha amplifiers will outclass the 1900 which is not being replaced when the new models launch.
