Audition speakers at home via Amazon, then return?

So I'm upgrading my home sounds; I've narrowed down the field; and the time has come to seriously audition.

Problem: no distributors in my area for my first and second choices. :wall: And, for that matter, it would be nice to audition in my living room

Possible solution? Order on Amazon; try out for a couple weeks; then return the pair I like less. -- Has anyone tried this?

I've read that for perfectly function merchandise, there is a return shipping fee, but that's no problem -- worth it. I just want to make sure I can get a refund on the purchase price.

As long as you're fully complying with Amazon's T&Cs then I don't see a problem. What may be a problem is that I don't recall Amazon, themselves offering too many hifi speakers. So if it's another seller selling via Amazon you may not have the same approval period. You should still have at least seven working days under DSR but many retailers do their best to ignore that. You'd need to establish up front if they comply with legislation or not. Off the top of my head Superfi are very good & Sevenoaks bad but i haven't looked at either's T&Cs lately so may have changed.

If you order Mordaunt-Short speakers from their own website http://www.mordaunt-short.com

they are offering 60day Home Audition.

Though I realise you may not have their speakers in mind but it is an option. :)
