My system is as follow Audiolab 8000a mk2 , Arcam CD72T and a pair of B&W P4s. I am looking to buy an 8000p and bi amp it with the 8000a and it seems there are new ones available for around £340 from various dealers but should I hang out to buy a matching unit for my amp as I am worried about the difference in sound quality I have spoken to two shops I wont mention and they both say I will not notice that much difference I beg to differ as the earlier Cambridge Systems are much better than the newer counterparts what are your thoughts ?

The new ones are designed to work with the old UK built ones, so I don't think that'll be a problem. However I would still contact AIG and check, they're petty useful. They may suggest that solely using the 8000A as a pre and using the P to power both HF and LF is your best bet, so I would definitely send them an e-mail.

I doubt that there is much difference in sound quality.
