I am currently using an Audiolab 8000A. I've managed to get my hands on an 8000DAC (used one) but no interconnect cables and manual; only the power cable.

I've read that connecting the two creates a better sound. What would I need to connect the two and how?

Hi there — Usually you connect your digital sources, such as CD player, to the DAC, and the DAC to the integrated amplifier.

To connect the 8000A and 8000DAC you just need a pair of RCA or cinch cables. Then, check if your CD player has a digital optical or coaxial output, and you will need to connect it to the same type of input in the DAC. So you will need a cable of whichever type of connection you choose.

Just take into account that cinch and digital coaxial cables look similar but they are not, they have different impedance—and cinch cables are typically used in pairs, while you'd just need a single digital coaxial one.
