I am setting up a home office and would like some compact speakers to add to my Mac, in the past I had some JBL creature speakers but the sub just got in the way, so I like the idea of small active speakers.

So the question is are the Audioengine A2's the best to go for? I can get them for about £130, but I don't really want to spend and more than that.

I thank you.

Check out the M-audio AV40's great little active speakers can be had for under £100.

The A2s are fantastic for the money in my opinion. I originally bought them for my kitchen, but, after hearing them, they soon replaced the Harmon Kardon ones in my office and these were relegated to the kitchen!

Got mine from Advanced MP3 Players though unfortunately just noticed they're out of stock. However, next day delivery arrived as expected and I also got a faulty power supply unit after a few days so sent in an email about it - the next working day I received a new power supply unit through the post. Can't fault them.

Yeah, that's where I had seen them. It's good to know you got a good service, have to wait until they are back in stock. Thanks for your help.

Out of interest did you go for black or white?

Personally, I went for white, thinking it was more Apple. Depends really on the surroundings though - I use them in my living room now (as I upgraded again to the Epoz AktiMates for the office) where they fit in nicely, so quite glad about that!

I hope I have not broken any Forum rules, but just to say Ecodigital DOES have stock of A2's as of today 18th June.
