Sonos ace vs AirPods Max vs something else?
Hi, I have a home cinema of sorts with an lg Oled and a pieced together 5.1.2 system. I’m after some headphones for movies for neighbour friendly late night viewing (music is catered for). I’d like atmos capability with head tracking. The two mentioned above seem the only viable options. Both would involve purchase of either a Sonos soundbar or an Apple 4k tv box to output the atmos mix. I do have some 4k blu rays which I understand will only work with the Sonos setup (Apple atmos confined to streaming) and only then if the audio mix is atmos (Sonos doesn’t decode DTS:X)
Sounds like Sonos is the better bet given that I’d rather spin a 4k blu ray than find a compressed stream, but I’d like to know if there are any other options on the market/ in the pipeline that would compete.
I suppose the best would be a headphone receiver/amp that decoded the various surround mixes and outputted to any headphone, then I could use my existing cans.
