Hi,

I noticed that someone in Edinburgh is selling Astin Trew AT1000/AT5000 power/pre combo. Reviews seems to be positive. Price - £500.

Do you think its a good deal? I'm searching for the new amp and I never heard about this company.

Hi, Yes it's a very good pre/power combo, they work really well with the new Revolver Music series range of speakers, AstinTrew also have a new integrated out soon the AT2000, but at £500 the At1000/5000 is a steal.

It's depend on what are you upgrade from? I can't argue with that price though as long as you like the valve-ish sound.

aaah - I'm upgrading from absolutely budget set - CA 340. The "valve-ish" sound is exactly what I'm looking for. I was thinking about some budget, valve amps (like Yaqin MC-10L) but I think hybrids are better for me. Anyway - I'm getting it after Christmas🙂 It should be fun🙂... and then speakers.... cables... interconnects... oh dear🙂

Sadly I cannot buy anything at the moment but maybe this will be very usueful for someone - this combo is now available for £400 pounds - so if you;re from Edinburgh it sounds like amazing bargain!
