Hi all

I have just made use of a free extended warrenty on my current tv and as it was uneconomical to repair i have ended up with argos vouchers. The insurance company offered us £60 less then what we paid for the TV 3 years ago so i was pretty happy with that.

I know i can sell the vouchers on ebay for very close to their value but unless there is something out there that is an absolute bargain, i dont really want the hassle so really im looking for TV in argos. Which leads me to my question....

Should i buy what i think most suits my needs from the current clearnce sales or should i wait until the new catalogue comes out in 5 days time and hope there is a better product at a keen price? And does anyone have any reccomendations for any of their range?

Ideally i'm looking for a 42 but would settle for a 40 as i know my budget of under £600 is a little measly but times are hard for us indepandant retailers at them moment. I quite like the samsung lcds and want one with an LAN output so i can make use of the samsung remote control iphone app. My main veiwing of the tv is sky hd but i am also planning on investing in a blueray player in the near future and although i know im not going to get 'something special' i would still put picture quality at the very top of my requirments.

Cheers in advance

Looking at the models they have on Clearance I would wait for the new catalogue. Many of the models they have in the current catalogue will also be in the new one for less.

I was looking at the Sammy LE40C580 which seems to get some pretty good reveiws and looks to have what i'm looking for. I'm not really in any rush either as they have left me with the TV they have written off for a slight issue with the screen. So probably best to wait then?

I don't know really. It's £500 at Dixons, £550 at Argos at the moment. I don't know how old it is or whether it's imminently up for replacement.
