What is the point o1080p TVs,if the only full hd source is blueray?Sky hd 1080i at best, gaming 720p,freeview 560p at best,Are we being sold a pony?

I think we might be having this conversation concurrently in the Freesat, Sky and Virgin section.

It's better here, however, principally because the paragraphs are shorter.

Hopefully not! In my case, as I tend to watch films on Blu Ray fairly often, I'm happy that I own a 1080p screen. I can quite understand, however, that those with 720p max resolution televisions wouldn't necessarily feel inclined to upgrade. As far as I understand, 1080p streaming is in the pipeline from some servers (LoveFilm, for example), though I'm happy to be corrected on that point. I think we just have to wait for services to catch up fully with technology...

It's a scandal! Back to black and white, everyone...

All the hardware manufacturers are doing is making sets capable of handling the best possible sources currently available. How is that a con?

You feel you're being conned for this??? Definitely don't buy a 3D TV then!

You got a point Andrew!

I guess people now a days are much more critical when buying electronics than in the old days.

It almost sounds like CRT TVs were without flaws. Well, think again. If this is what you believe you have a serious memory gab!
