Are sony really LG

I have been told that sony tvs are really LG with sony only putting the case on is this true.

Been told wrong, I'm afraid: Sony has a joint venture with Samsung - S-LCD - making LCD display panels in Korea, but that's about as far as it goes.

LG used to be a joint venture with Philips, though I think Philips sold their shares a few years ago

These rumours are thought up by those wanting a cheaper screen but to be able to justify to their friends that they have got one over the system!

Samsubg & LG are the biggest LCD panel manufacturers in the world, & many other manufacturers source the panels from them, including B&O, Loewe, Philips, Sony etc.

But there's a lot more to the TV than a mere LCD panel, & the resultant picture quality is dependent on these other factors as well.
