Tried to set up my new DAC yesterday and had a problem. I have my music collection saved in an external Buffalo hard drive so had this connected to my computer by USB. Connected computer to DAC by USB. Connected DAC to Marantz amplifier with 2 Chrimson Chord cables. At the back of amplifier the socket said DVD/Aux. Turned on DAC and only got a red light, there seemed to be no connection. Any idea where I went wrong? Had cables going everywhere. Would it be easier to get a wireless dongle?? Will there be any loss in reproduction quality? Thanks.

Are you using a PC or Mac? If a PC then I'm afraid no idea - you'll have to Google it.

For a Mac then System Prefs / Sound is probably the place to start... good luck!

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but have you selected the USB input on the DAC? It's the button on top, pressing it toggles through the options, the USB one that you want is the light on the left of the 4 lights?

To roger06, I'm using a PC. And to the last guy, don't worry, my question is the stupid one!! I was pressing the top button but was under the impression it should of been in the position optical or coax?? I think I tried it in every position. With a wireless dongle it's a lot less complicated, no??

When I couldn't get a connection green on USB started to flick through the options. Just set up again and it WORKED!! Thanks all for help, am def thinking of investing 70 euros for a wireless dongle, too many cables for my liking.
