Arcam loading time

Hi, i've purchased a Arcam cd73 and noticed when i close the tray with no disc the machine takes up to 30 seconds to recognise the fact. Does anybody know if this is normal or have i got a dud? Thanks

Hello Tosh, i have a 73 and it takes 15 seconds, 30 does seem excesive have it checked out.

Try a cheap CD lens cleaner first - might save some money on a service!

Funnily enough, my CD192 can take a while to load too (although I've never timed it!), and occasionally it won't read a disc at all unless I reload it. Still sounds great though.

The max my CD92 takes is about 5 seconds
