any views ive been offered a arcam cd73 ex demo with box and warranty for 200 or creek evo cd player for 194 with box and warranty. just wondered which was best. ive got arcam a70 amp and mordaunt short ms906
With your current kit, I would certainly plump for the CD73T. The Creek is great for the price, but given you have a lean amp and fairly lively speakers I would avoid any CDP that has similar traits.
dsco01:thanks for reply. i do prefer the look of arcam as well
It's a very good CD player, with the added bonus of an upgrade path should you require it later down the line. Likewise, the A70 can also be upgraded with one of Arcam's power amps.
dsco01:ive been trying to source a power amp but dont know what to go for any recomendations and where to get from?
For the sake of synergy and aesthetics, I would look at Arcams own. There is usually a good selection and pop-up on fleebay - any from the DIVA range P75, P80 or P85.
But anyway, most CD players at any given price point sound more or less the same*, so I'd go for the aesthetics, despite the fact that the Creek player is much better value at those prices.
JohnDuncan:Not with the A70 driving them, I'd say... But anyway, most CD players at any given price point sound more or less the same*, so I'd go for the aesthetics, despite the fact that the Creek player is much better value at those prices. * JD Generalisation No.741
Hi ! That's a great deal on the Creek Evo ! Is it for Evo 2 or the original , how long is the warranty and if you go with the Arcam I wouldn't mind the Evo - so how do I track it down ?

I would have thought the same. I am currently closing in on a deal for an ex demo CD Evo Mk 1 or original, with a two year warranty for 299 , so 194 is a steal , if it's for real
I'm sure it is for real - there are some tasty bargains out there. Having said that, with A70, I would still choose the 73T over the Creek personally.....
