I’m sure it will sound good, but after living with the AVR600 and BDP100 for three years my loyalty has well and truly gone.

While the review seems ok, I get the impression that reading between the lines, it’s another poorly equipped, 1 trick pony, at an extortionate price.
How Arcam have gone from great to poor in such a few short years is beyond me.

Like its predecessor the AVR600, it puts remarkable sound quality first.......but hopefully in a more reliable package.
If you want to know what the fuss is about, you need to listen to one,

I agree you have to listen to one first, however if its anything like the AVR 600 then it will be great with music, but a waste of space for home cinema.
For the same price or less you could get a top home cinema receiver and a top stereo amp which will give you the best of both worlds. (This combination easily blew the AVR 600 out of the water in both sound and features)

I compared the AVR600 with a couple of good AVRs from other brands, incuding Yamaha and Pioneer's Susano....and chose the Arcam......One of the features that I find excellent is Dolby Volume.
On 2 channel, i preferred it to amps like Moon i7, Coda CSi and MF M6i
It's not just me though, as the outright performance has received much acclaim.
I certainly won't disagree that it was far too buggy - which should mean they have learned from their mistakes. It's much too soon to be disparaging about their new product.

Hope they've improved the firmware - that was their achilles heel over recent years.

I for one dnt think there is much differnce between the AVR750 & 450.. The 750 has more power thats about it. Saved me £1.800.

I tried the AVR500 when buying my LX83 a few years back. The AVR450 at the time had similar charecteristics and underperformed in comparison (as i expected perhaps). I wrote a huge review on it.
If this AVR750 is built differently and not like the AVR450 then it may find its way onto my demo list
. However, for me personally I like a brighter sound, like the Pioneer, where things really pop and sound sharp.
If the Arcam has achieved what we say here, then it may just be the perfect AV unit. Exceptional with music, now could it be the same with film?
