Hey peeps...

Been offered an ARCAM A85 intergrated amp for £300...Its in great condition and has been well looked after

Anyone own one themselves..?..read loadsa reviews and their all positive...

Things is..I'm now torn between buying that or getting my Class A 'kelvin labs' serviced and repaired

for around the same kinda price...Either way..I'll be spending that money..Do I go For a 'newer' amp

Or stick with a Traditional loved amp I've owned for 10+ years......[:^)]

I paid £285 for mine (plus the fuel to pick it up Essex/Suffolk borders)

Very happy with it but I would advocate trying to find the partnering P85 power amp to really make your music sing.

They too come up on the second hand market occasionally, I paid £200 for mine.

That's one hell of a £500 amplifier.🙂

Yeah..I've heard the P85 is an excellent edition to the A85..I'm only powering Kef IQ5's so not too much of a load.

A local hifi shop had A P85 a couple of days ago for £200..Gone already...DOH...their well sort after.

After Listening to the A85 this afternoon on a test I soooo want it...lol...Think it will suit my system rather nicely..

Thanx Chris..🙂

I think the A85 is a cracking amp, I've had one since new and wouldn't part with it. Yes, getting a P85 will improve it further, especially if your speakers need a lot of driving, or you like things really loud. As for the price, does the A85 you've been offered have the optional phono stage? If so, then it's a good price, I'd say
