Apple has dropped native support for youtube in IOS 6.

Although you will still be able to access youtube through safari - expect limited feature support.

Upload to YouTube is still available at system level in iOS 6 beta 4, it just looks like Google are maintaining the app instead of Apple. Apple haven't done much with the app recently so this should be a good thing.

Youtube are yet to confirm they are working on a new IOS app - though u expect they are.

On the plus side - the current youtube app on IOS doesnt even support HQ videos, so if they just fix that 1 feature it would be an improvement.

However, if may follow a similar line to Apples decision to not include google maps. Apples replacement for maps doesnt include features like streetview - something I wouldnt be very happy about.

google no doubt will bring out their own maps and youtube app for ios, so not to worry. It's all part of apple's strategy to remove google from being on their device now android has such a big market share.

I only use the google maps as a yellow pages alternative with location. If I actually need maps I use Nav Free, which is ace. It's based on open maps and is saved to the phone (about 500mb) so still works with very poor signal. It was free, but I paid a quid to get rid of ads and about £1.50 for the speed camera add on.

I would be extremely surprised if a Youtube app didn't pop up. As much politics are flying around between the two companies, Google can't afford to give up the add clicks.
